Principal’s Message

At Bellaire Primary School, our motto is ‘Aim High’. We strive to create a secure, collaborative, and challenging environment that supports every student in maximising their achievements. We believe in empowering our students to be active participants in driving their own learning, preparing them for lifelong success as proactive, global citizens.

We understand that a child’s life and learning are interconnected, which is why we value a holistic approach to education. Our focus goes beyond academics; we prioritise the overall well-being and personal growth of each student. We believe that strong family connections are key to a child’s success, and we actively encourage parent involvement in our school community.

In addition to a well-rounded curriculum, we offer specialist subjects to enrich our students’ learning experiences. Our students have the opportunity to explore French language and culture, as well as delve into the exciting world of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics), an engaging and exciting Physical Education program, and an exceptional Arts program. These subjects foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, preparing our students for the demands of the modern world.

Community focus is at the heart of Bellaire Primary School. We actively engage with our local community and encourage our students to develop a sense of responsibility towards others. We believe in nurturing empathy, compassion, and respect for all individuals, fostering a supportive and inclusive school culture. We also place a strong emphasis on promoting positive behaviour, ensuring that our students develop the resilience and social skills needed to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

At Bellaire Primary School, we are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for our students. We believe that by setting high expectations, fostering a collaborative learning environment, and encouraging students to take ownership of their learning journey, we can equip them with the skills and qualities they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Located in the beautiful suburb of Highton in Geelong, Bellaire Primary School draws students from both Highton and the surrounding areas. As of 2024, we have 29 home groups and a vibrant student population of approximately 620 students. Our leadership team consists of a Principal, two Assistant Principals (one for Prep-2 and another for Years 3-6), two Learning Specialists who work as instructional coaches for our teachers, and one Learning Specialist focused on inclusive practices education.

One of the strengths of our school is our straight year levels. This means that students in each year level have the opportunity to learn and grow together, forming strong connections with their peers and teachers. Our teachers work collaboratively in teams to plan and implement engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our wonderful students.
