COVID 19 UPDATE

Vaccinations

There have been changes to the vaccination requirements for mainstream schools that came into effect from 11.59pm Friday June 24th. There are no longer any mandatory vaccination requirements for staff or visitors working or attending mainstream schools.

Rapid Antigen Tests

We will still be receiving deliveries of RATs in both Terms 3 and 4. These will be distributed to students and staff upon arrival and are encouraged to be used by staff and students who are symptomatic or household contacts.

All students and staff will receive a RAT kit on Friday this week followed by additional testing kits every two weeks.

Face Masks

The current advice from the Victorian Government is that it is recommended face masks are worn in all indoor settings, except for close contacts, who must wear a mask indoors unless an exception applies.

STUDENT CELEBRATIONS

Over the holidays we have had a number of students compete in competitions. We love hearing about how they have gone!

As mentioned at assembly prior to the holidays Poppy M was going to compete in the Australian Junior Gymnastics competition in Queensland. We would like to congratulate Poppy on her fantastic effort!

Over the holidays Blake M competed in the Victorian hip- hop competition. Blake came first and will be competing in the Australian championships. We congratulate Blake and wish him the very best!

WORKS OVER THE HOLIDAYS and COMING UP

Over the holidays we had a few things completed at school. We had a number of things done in preparation for the building works that will begin before the end of the year. We also had new playground soft fall put in in every playground.

Over the holidays Mr Raidme, Mrs Loney and I met with the architects. We are getting closer to going to tender with the capital works project every day. We can’t wait to let you know the start date for the build. Next week the students and teachers will be voting on colour schemes for the new classrooms.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

This week we would like to acknowledge all of our new students who have started at Bellaire recently. We have had a number of families that are new to the area and have enrolled their children in our wonderful school. Any kind of change, particularly starting at a new school, can be daunting and nerve wracking for some however the students have had positive starts at our school. In addition to that, we thank and acknowledge the amazing effort of their peers and teachers in welcoming the students and ensuring that they are feeling comfortable in their new surroundings.

EARLY DROP OFFS

We are writing to remind you that the yard is not supervised until 8.45am. We are getting a number of students being dropped off at 8.20am or earlier. If you need to drop them off early please book them into OSCH. If they are here early they will be put into OSHC at parents expense. Thank you for your support with this. We want all our students to be safe and supervised while at school.
