Face Masks and Visitors to Schools
As previously communicated, students in Grade 3 and above are required to wear face masks indoors while at school. Face masks are also strongly recommended for students in Prep to Grade 2. The Victorian Chief Health Officer has stated that the mandated wearing of masks will continue to be reviewed and will not be forever. As soon as it is safe to do so, the requirement will be lifted. Please ensure that your child/ren brings a face mask to school each day. Schools are encouraged to limit the mixing of cohorts and limiting onsite visitors.
Yesterday there were 10 large air purifiers delivered to our school. These have been placed in our classroom spaces.
Vaccination requirements for visitors to school facilities
For all school events, all visitors to the school will be asked to comply with vaccination requirements, density limits, face mask requirements, QR code check ins and good hand hygiene.
Parents and carers must also refrain from congregating on school grounds at the beginning and end of the school day. Thank you to all families for your support with this.
We are continuing to encourage and promote physical distancing, regular hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
I remain hopeful that we can see out the school year on site with all measures in place and genuinely appreciate the support of our parent community in keeping everyone safe and well.
End of Year Events update
Our sole priority is to ensure that all students conclude the year healthy and happy to enable all families to enjoy Christmas and the holiday period free of disruption. Please see details of our school events below:
- ‘Step Up Day’ – on Monday the students will meet their teacher and class for 2022. Most children will come home excited about next year, while some will be a bit disappointed that a friend isn’t with them, or they didn’t get the teacher they had hoped for. We would appreciate your help with working through this if they come home feeling this way. There has been a phenomenal amount of work that has gone into organising these grades and there will be no opportunity to make changes, unless we have made, and error and it only becomes apparent when the children are together. We ask that you please not call or email about you disappointed child wanting them to be swapped to another class. We have done our absolute best and have put a lot of thought and care into these classes.
- Year 5 Adventure Park Excursion
- Prep – 2 McDonald Reserve Excursion
- Year 6 Adventure Park Excursion
- Year 3/4 BOUNCE Excursion

Payment Options for 2022 Voluntary Contributions
We would like to sincerely thank all the school families who have supported the school canteen over this difficult year. Thank you for all the kind messages we have received from students and families. I would like to personally thank Leanne McDonald who has been a tower of strength to me to enable us to continue to provide this service to our school community during difficult times when we were unable to have our valued parent helpers for a significant period of the year. It was a pleasure for both of us to put a smile on the students faces even with a simple morning tea/lunch order.
We would like to acknowledge the following parent helpers whose last child is leaving this year and have helped us over many years:-
Deb Cooper, Kim Fuller, Brigitte Giraud, Kellie Richards, Tania Stiles, Michelle & Chris Totton, Yvette Wingert & Kate Gibson. We have very much valued your help over the years and wish you and your families all the best in the next chapter of your schooling.
To all our Bellaire families have a well deserved break.
We hope to have our very valued parent helpers return in 2022.
With Kind Regards and Merry Christmas
