A Message From The Principal

What a week it has been. It has been wonderful to have all the students back. We are so proud of our Year 3-6 students for adapting to wearing masks indoors. We have received the full range of weather this week – this did not stop our Junior School Council from selling out of Zooper Doopers on the first day!

COVID Safe Operations and Visitors to Schools

As previously communicated, students in Grade 3 and above are required to wear face masks, indoors while at school. Face masks are also strongly recommended for students in Prep to Grade 2. The Victorian Chief Health Officer has stated that the mandated wearing of masks will continue to be reviewed and will not be forever. As soon as it is safe to do so, the requirement will be lifted. Please ensure that your child/ren brings a face mask to school each day.

Schools are encouraged to limit the mixing of cohorts and limiting onsite visitors. A reminder that currently parents are not permitted inside school buildings due to density limits unless an appointment has been pre-arranged with your child’s classroom teacher.

Vaccination requirements for visitors to school facilities

Any visitor or volunteers performing work in schools are required to either have had their first dose by the 18 October or, have a booking to receive a first dose by 25 October or, are fully vaccinated by 29 November (unless a medical exemption applies) to attend on site.

For all upcoming school events, all visitors to the school will be asked to comply with vaccination requirements, density limits, face mask requirements, QR code check ins and good hand hygiene.

Parents and carers must also refrain from congregating on school grounds at the beginning and end of the school day. Thank you to all families for your support with this.

We are continuing to encourage and promote physical distancing, regular hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

Year 6 Graduation

The Year 6 Graduation will be held on Wednesday 8th December. Information regarding the Graduation will be released to Year 6 families as soon as we have finalised details. As everyone can understand, things have been changing constantly.

End of Year Celebrations for Year levels

Along with Graduation, we are currently finalising some end of year events for our students to celebrate the ‘year that was’. Families will be informed of details shortly.

A Message From The Junior School Council

This week was week 1 of 3 weeks selling Zooper Doopers on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes, and what a day to start! 30 degrees and fine all around, meaning we SOLD OUT! We were more prepared on Thursday, once again selling just under 400 Zooper Doopers in 15 minutes. We have made just over $150 this week, so if it keeps up, we will have some really cool prizes we can purchase for our end of year raffle. Remember, all funds from the raffle go to State Schools Relief Fund.

Our biggest challenge at the moment is freezer storage, but we have been very impressed with how polite our customers have been. Thanks for your support everyone!

An Update from Mr Canny

Colour Run

The Colour Explosion is fast approaching! We are a little less than a month away from the Colour Run event on December 3. To those people who have already created an online profile, thank you, we have managed to raise almost $14,000. But we need everyone on board to keep that number growing to be able to purchase outdoor equipment for our students. Fundraising will close on the 26th of November and you will need to choose prizes before the cut off date.

Students will need to start to source a white t-shirt for the day and an alternate wide-brimmed hat.

More information will be coming in the weeks ahead regarding the day itself down how it will be run.

PREP-2 SPORTS DAY

After a false start last Friday we are scheduled to go again on Monday 8th of November. Just a general reminder that students need to have their shoulders covered and shoes suitable for running on Monday. Wide brimmed hats are also required.

We are excited to invite parents to the Prep-2 Sports Day from 2:30pm onwards. We ask that parents sign in using the QR code on the gate.

Fun with role play

Sometimes it’s good to pause and reflect upon the wonderful impact our teachers can have on our students as role models. Here is Esme D channeling Mrs Andrews – teaching style, outfit and even the pregnant belly 😂. We love seeing and hearing stories like this.

A request that all students please return any library books that they may have at home.  Mrs Thomas is in the process of stocktaking the library book collection, so needs all of the books returned.  Thank you.
