The school is closed on Wednesday 21st October as it is a Geelong Public Holiday.

The school is closed on Friday 23rd October as it is a Victorian Public Holiday.

There will be NO  OSHC program running on these days.

We kindly remind members of our community to not enter the school grounds before or after school hours or on weekends.  There have been some examples recently where our Department-employed Security Team have informed us that students, families and members of the general public have been on school property outside school hours. Given the current climate and the restrictions in place to manage COVID-19, the only people allowed on site (as per signage) are school staff and school-employed contractors.  If you notice any suspicious activity or people on school property who should not be there, please report it to the Police on 000.  Thank you for your understanding.

A Message From The Principal

It has been another fantastic week at Bellaire PS. The students have settled back into the school routine and the teachers have spent another week focussing on well-being and rebuilding a ‘normal’ classroom-learning environment.

PUBLIC HOLIDAYSWEDNESDAY 21st OCTOBER (Geelong Cup Day) and FRIDAY 23rd OCTOBER (Thank You Day / AFL Grand Final) are both PUBLIC HOLIDAYS.

SPORTS DAYOur Junior School Council (JSC) have organised a SPORTS DAY dress up on THURSDAY 22nd OCTOBER – gold coin donation. Please come dressed as your favourite sport!

BOOK WEEKBook week is next week. However, in light of the two public holidays and the Sports Day Dress Up we are going to move Bellaire Primary Schools Book Week. We are moving it to the following week – week 4. We encourage all our students to come along dressed up as a character from their favourite book on WEDNESDAY 28th OCTOBER.

PREP TEACHERS 2021Next week we will be sending out a digital presentation to our 2021 Prep families. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold our ‘normal’ information night. During this presentation our Prep 2021 teachers will be speaking.

Our Prep 2021 Team will be –

Ms Tamika Moor, Ms Hannah Powell, Ms Sarah Pickering, Mr Daniel Jull and Ms Matilda Fitzgerald.

MRS BUDZIENNYWe would like to celebrate the wonderful news that Mrs Budzienny is expecting her first baby. Mrs Buzienny is due to give birth in April next year. We will see her back at the start of next year – but not for long!

HATS Just a reminder that term 4 is a ‘hat wearing’ term. Please ensure your child has a school hat – these can be left in their bag bays at school if you wish to ensure they have them every day. Please also ensure that the hats are NAMED. We are able to ensure that named hats that are found in the yard are returned to the child. There are hats available to purchase from the front office as well as the uniform shop in town. Please contact the office if you have any questions.

TOYS FROM HOME (Ooshies, soft toys etc)Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions we ask all students not to bring any toys from home. If they do happen to come to school teachers will ask them to put them back into their bag and take them home.

SHADE SAILS –  We are very excited to announce that over the Summer holidays we will be having a shade sail constructed over the Prep Playground (near the SLU building).

It has been lovely to see the students back in the library – many have been happily discussing the books they’ve read or discovered over the weeks of Remote Learning.  Unfortunately, this extended period at home has meant that many library books have been misplaced – please help your child look for Bellaire Library books at home so that they can be returned to the library as soon as possible.  Thank you!

Library Leaders

It has been very exciting to welcome a group of senior and middle students who have shown interest in becoming a Library Leader.  Library Leaders hold a position of responsibility in the library, and after completing some training are able to scan books for returns and borrowing, sort and shelve books, borrow additional books, write book reviews and act as ambassadors for the Library.  Congratulations to the following students whose application was successful –
